I have made pretzels in school with every one of our children. This recipe is BY FAR the best of the four. It was easy and is delicious!

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
6 large or 8 small lemons
8 cups water
Put the sugar and 1 cup of water into a small saucepan on the stove to make the syrup. Melt until the sugar is completely dissolved. Approximately 5 minutes. Set aside and allow to cool.
Juice your lemons in a juicer or a hand held juicer. Truly, you could just squeeze them by hand...you just need to end up with around 1 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice.
Pour the lemon juice and 8 cups of water into a large pitcher. Add the syrup.
You can add sugar to decrease the level of tartness you prefer. Add some ice and a pretty straw and head to the porch swing. Just sit and enjoy every last drop.
