Bride's Biscuits

This recipe has staying power.

June Creasy made these biscuits every year for Lambuth University’s senior brunch. And this year my Mother-in-love and daughters made these for my 45th birthday party. They are amazing! You will not be disappointed by these.

Ingredients (click HERE for the printable)

5 cups of flour
1 t. salt
1/2 t. baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
5 T. warm water
5 t. baking powder
3 T. sugar
1 cup shortening
1 pkg. dry yeast

Bride's Biscuits

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with either a pastry cutter or two knives. Add buttermilk. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add yeast and water mixture into the first mixture. Knead lightly. Roll out and cut. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Our Strawberry Jelly with these biscuits would be perfectly delightful.
